I was reading spoilers (surprise, surprise) today and found out some horrifying, devastating news: Robert Sheehan may not return for the third season of Misfits and if he does, it will be in a limited capacity. I’d really like to say that I would continue to watch the show sans Nathan Young, but I really can’t at this point. Nathan makes the show for me. To be honest, I care very little about Simon, Kelly, Alisha & Curtis. We’ve seen the more of Nathan’s home life than any of the other characters. We all know Nathan can be an asshat, but there are viable reasons why he acts the way he does. And it’s also one of the main reasons why I hope with all of my heart that America will not try to remake Misfits. Nathan is a one-of-a-kind character with a one-of-a-kind actor. Robert is Nathan and he can pull off both comedic and emotional scenes in equal measure.
Maybe my title is a little dramatic. I’m sure Misfits would fare fine without Robert/Nathan. The writing has been consistently great and the remaining four actors are all very talented. But I don’t think anyone can deny that it would be a completely different show. I cannot see any other character spewing out “Nathanisms” without a major character rewrite. And if they do decide to introduce another character with Nathan’s attitude, they would never compare to the original. I’m leaving you with my favorite six scenes of Nathan Young. I hope I leave the impression that Nathan is a vital character to the show and how bland the third season will be without the spice that is Nathan Young.
I’m going to note here that the following will include some vulgar language. Nathan has mastered sarcasm and vulgarity. [Click the banners for video!]
6. The Afterbirth Debacle
5. The ‘Old Circle Jerk’
4. The Math Lesson
3. The Fancy Dress Party
2. The “I’m Immortal!” Dance

what the fuck kind of crap is that. Misfits wont be the same. Why are they doing this, is he getting kicked off or something?!?
not sure yet, but it’s probably so he can further his movie career. and it was recently confirmed. sad day for misfits fans.
Good riddance to him tbh. Was sick of him from midway through the first season. His schtick is old and his mysogyny made me want him gone. Much prefer Curtis who is actually the only likable character on the show to me.
Saddly you’re mistaken Misfits fan base dropped by 43% after finding out he left the show. The show is most likely dead now.
Aside from Nathan, the only character with any dynamic is Simon. Not only that Nathan gave some sort of sick satisfaction to a lot of the nonsense sort of censorship that seems to be coming across the boards of media, not to mention everyone is filthy in some way and he wore his on his sleeve, and his jump suit and his sock!
i’m not fuckin gonna watch misfits anymore
After I hit the end of Series 2, I just stopped watching. I watched three minutes of Series 3 and couldn’t go through with it because I kept criticizing every movement Rudy made and comparing him to Nathan. T’was heartbreaking, to say the least. Nathan was the sole reason I started watching the show in the first place, cos of how amazing he was in the adverts. Now with Rudy there, it just isn’t the same. It’s a different show. They should have left it at four, and I’m gutted that they had to add Rudy into it. I hate when people say ‘stop comparing the two, they’re different people’. The problem with that is that we should be comparing them, because the only reason they added Rudy into the show was so he could REPLACE Nathan. Also, they didn’t do a very good job at creating a new character. They just took Nathan’s personality and tweaked it into what they thought was better. They’re so alike, it’s sickening. The only difference is that on Nathan, it fit perfectly. Not that I have any problems with Joe, cos he’s an okay lad and he’s only trying to do his job, but the character Rudy irks me to no end. All he’ll ever be to me is a sad rip-off. If they had just left it at 4, it would have been fine and I wouldn’t have minded as much. But replacing Nathan was a terrible thing to do. NOBODY can replace Nathan. He was, and always will be, a legend.
wise words you said !!!
same here @troll, even I has the same feeling, could not watch misfits season 3 for more than 2,3 episodes. The best part of how Nather plays his character is the fact that we all somehow for some reason or the other, get to like him dispite of him being the morst irritating personality for the other members of his gang ……
Hell I’m from america and I hope we don’t redo this show nathan was gold… and kelly is so sexy I love her personality.. truly nathan should’ve never left he was hilariously witty, and a poet
